DBMAS® (Dry Bulk Management System)
DBMAS® is our newly developed marine type of loading control and monitoring system, which makes the loading and unloading of the cement carrier an almost fully automated procedure. The centre of this system is a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) This industrial type of computer is specially designed for onboard cargo vessels and is also designed with a high resistance to environmental factors. The PLC is installed inside the deckhouse. The control panel is installed on the wheelhouse with an easy to use panel layout consisting of a 10” LCD touch screen.
To control the trim during loading, the cement can be guided to the appropriate holds. To control the list of the vessel the cement can be directed to portside and starboard side. The control of trim and list is fully automated in the DBMAS® PLC control system.
Altough the ship unloading process is fully programmed, there are still possibilities for the operator to modify several parameters. It will thus be possible to adapt the system for different grades of material and variations in the convey pipe layout.
All process steps that are executed by the DBMAS® PLC can be monitored on the 10” touch-screen control display. If the position changes then all major butterfly valves can be checked here, together with the pressure changes inside the transfer vessels ant the convey line. The
DBMAS® PLC constantly monitors for any possible alarms and in case of such a situation, a message will be displayed. At the same time the DBMAS® PLC automatically takes all the necessary steps to prevent possible damage. The unloading program will switch over to a neutral mode and if necessary it will shut down all effected equipment completely.
When the discharging is finished, both re-loader and all pipelines are automatically emptied of material and thoroughly blown through with clean air for a period of time. Immediately after this procedure the machinery will automatically switch off.
Integration
It is possible to incorporate the control system at the receiving end of the convey line with the
DBMAS® PLC control. In case a silo is accidentally being filled, it thus makes it possible to efficiently and effectively interrupt or divert the convey process away from the malfunctioning equipment.
We can integrate the DBMAS® with the internet making it possible adequate service and assistance online . Extensive diagnostics and troubleshooting can be achieved without the need of travelling to the vessel which causes loss of time and money.
Economiser
During the moment that cement is on a very low level in the hold and only limited cement is sucked out of the ship (during clean up) the power (fuel) consumption will be reduced. Due to this optimising program, the fuel consumption of the equipment is related to the amount of material handled and as such, no fuel is wasted
