General description for self discharging cement carriers
The pneumatic dry bulk system is specially designed for installation onboard a bulk carrier. The equipment is suitable for discharging up to 1500TPH and loading up to 2000TPH. The equipment is based on the pneumatic principle; loading with air-slide and discharging with two (2) pneumatic cement discharge units. The pneumatic cement discharge pumps are situated at the bulkheads.
The loading will be done from the shore where the shore delivers the product in the central receiving hopper. From the hopper the product is transferred via the air-slides to the appropriate hold number.
The discharging of the holds will be done by means of two (2) pneumatic cement discharge units that can fully operate separately and independently of each other. Most importantly, each system consists out of two (2) re-loader vessels that can work independently if one re-loader vessel has a malfunction.
The required machinery such as; vacuum pumps, compressor units, blowers, electrical cabinet and auxiliary air system is installed in a new deckhouse which is located on top of the bulkhead between hold numbers 2 and 3.The dry bulk handling equipment is controlled by the DBMAS® system which controls the two (2) bulk handling systems fully automatically, and as well as, the trim and list of the vessel during loading and discharging. The DBMAS® control system is controlled from the wheelhouse on an easy to use panel with a 10” daylight touch-screen.
