COMPANY VISION

Van Aalst Marine & Offshore is the ‘third generation’ in experience in Cement Bulk Handling.

Our family roots in pneumatic bulk conveying commenced in 1954, when Arie van Aalst, founded the first Dutch company for pneumatic handling of cement. He developed a
Vacuum-Pressure system and built this into a converted tug with which he was able to discharge cement in bulk and blow this into the storage silo located on the batching plant. 

In 1979 the son of Arie van Aalst, Gert van Aalst, founded a company in the market of road mobile pneumatic ship un-loaders.  Gert van Aalst further developed the concept of pneumatic ship unloading and designed the world’s first road mobile ship un-loaders.  Since 1999 the pneumatic ship un-loaders have been engineered, manufactured and sold under the company van Aalst Bulkhandling.  Van Aalst Bulkhandling has achieved 70% of world market share and is considered a leading supplier in pneumatic ship un-loaders.   As well as, Van Aalst Bulkhandling also developed several cement import and export terminals with extremely low dust emissions.  

The company Van Aalst Marine & Offshore, founded and directed by Wijnand van Aalst, (son of Gert van Aalst) is active in all pneumatic bulk handling equipment on board of vessels and other marine applications.  Specializing in dry bulk handling systems for offshore supply vessels as well as the conversions of ocean going cargo vessels into self discharging cement carriers.  All technologies are developed together with the parent company Van Aalst Bulk Handling. At present the company has been and continues to be very successful in selling dry bulk handling systems for offshore supply vessels and self discharging cement carriers.  Van Aalst Marine & Offshore BV is now selling worldwide with agent and office networks in China, Singapore, USA, India and Europe.

We have developed following new products;  Firstly, the DBMAS® (Dry Bulk Management System) which is a PLC based system to increase safety and ease of use.  It has a connectivity module system which connects the DBMAS® to your head office, our office and thereby giving technical support online with excellent operator friendly computer graphics. 
Secondly, our environmentally friendly dust control system is supplied with a class approved 5mg/nm3 emission certificate.

Further we have developed innovative technological products such as;  The Hurricane Aeration System produces less energy for better discharge efficiency and secondly, the Van Aalst Pinch Valves which can handle up-to 200.000 tonnes producing a unique long life discharge valve.
